On 24th February 2025, I had my third surgery in 2.5 years. This surgery was on the left knee, and hopefully should be the last one for my knees. This surgery was the most complicated one, as it was revision ACL reconstruction - which means the doctors had to replace the ACL after a previous surgery (10 years ago) to replace the ACL had failed. So this time they had to further do a process called Lateral Extra-Articular Tenodesis - which means taking a piece of the IT Band - which is the muscle on the side of the thigh, and using that to reinforce the knee joint to stabilise it further. Because of the torn ACL for a long time, there was damage to the meniscus as well. So they had to remove the damaged portion. So in short, a lot to do. The surgery went well, and the doctor was happy with the outcome. One of the best things I have done is to come to Fortius Clinic for my procedures. I got referred here by a colleague of my wife, and I later found out that they are the go-to doctors for a so many football clubs in the UK. Just got lucky and found the best care I possibly could for my injuries.

It has been 4 weeks since the surgery, and even after i have done the recovery twice in two years, it is easy to forget how hard and slow the initial days are. The progress is painstakingly slow, and I cant really do much apart from being on the couch. I am reliant on my wife for most things, even basic things like getting some water. I am massively grateful that she helps me so much and takes such good care of me. But I really want to get better as fast as I can. But this something that cant be sped up and is long, agonisingly slow path that requires patience and fortitude.

The only thing I have convinced myself is to become stronger than ever. I will take this injury to heart, become the strongest version. It’ll take time, but I am prepared to work for it.
