The wide sea beckoned with open arms Of towering waves and the spirit of freedom, No promise of calm waters and sunshine But of an adventure of a lifetime To set sail for destinations far and unknown On a journey to find his own Place in the larger puzzle of life, And to look for some lost pieces of jigsaws That would fit just right He knows it won’t be easy With stormy winds and high seas, And though the ship is safe on the harbour It is not where it is meant to be He knows not what is beyond the horizon Nor what tomorrow may become, But as he chased the sun across the seas Through shadowed nights and days that shone, The unwilling sailor smiles to himself -“Look how far I have come”.
